Cooper and I have the privileged of working at Sweet Briar Farm in Onalaska Washington. We take care of three green houses and other various areas of 3/4’s of an acre. Everyday we wake up at 6:45 to get up and work until 5:00 that evening. The work is very rewarding and we couldn’t ask for anything more exciting. More pictures and comments will be coming your way every Tuesday.
Cooper and I are applying for organic farm internships all over the country and thought that it would be fun to volunteer at one in Austin. Johnson’s farm gives a warm welcome to volunteers. The people that work there on a daily basis love their job. Volunteers leave with much more than what they came with: a few new friends, a full tote of veggies, and a smile.
I had the privileged of visiting the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo) this spring. The culture was very community oriented and they loved to cook. One picture above shows a roof top garden grown by a church there. They use the produce for their restaurant downstairs.
